Billing & Rebilling for AI Voice Minutes

As you integrate AI Voice features into client businesses, handling billing and rebilling becomes critical to ensure you're not left covering usage costs for your clients. Here’s how to set up and manage both billing and rebilling, keeping your agency’s finances running smoothly.

 


 

Understanding Billing for AI Voice Minutes

Every minute of AI-powered voice usage costs your agency a set rate (for example, $0.07 per minute).
If you leave things as-is, you pay for both your use and your clients’ usage. Rebilling lets you pass these costs (and even add a margin) to your clients automatically.

 


 

Step-by-Step: Setting Up Billing

  1. Go to Settings > Billing in your agency workspace.

  2. Update your card information—this is essential! Without a card on file, outbound calls will stop as soon as your balance hits zero. Inbound calls might continue briefly, but will eventually be cut off too.

  3. Enable Auto Pay to keep your wallet topped off.

    • Set your minimum balance (the amount that triggers a refill).

    • Set your refill amount (how much to add to your wallet each time the minimum is reached).

    • This ensures you never lose service due to a low balance.

💡 Tip: Keeping Auto Pay enabled is the best way to avoid unexpected downtime for you and your clients.

 


 

Rebilling: Passing On Costs to Your Clients

Once your billing is set up:

  • Head to Integrations or Rebilling (either route works).

  • Connect your Stripe account (to collect payments from your rebilled clients).
    You’ll be walked through linking an existing Stripe account or setting up a new one.

Now to finish this setup for rebilling you will need to make sure rebilling is turned on for each subaccount by going to Subaccounts and clicking the ellipses (...) then Turn on Rebilling. They will also need to have their billing info connected in their subaccount Settings and Billing tab (if not visible consult the billing documentation)

Now, you can enable rebilling for each sub account and set your own rate per voice minute (for example, charging clients $0.18 per minute while you pay $0.07 per minute). The margin is yours to keep.

🚦 Note: Always ensure Stripe is connected for rebilling to function. If there are issues with Stripe, revisit the integration to confirm the connection.
